We work with various local schools to help them set up their own e-Learning programmes and the charity has been able to source additional funding to help them in the early stages of these programmes.
Some schools have chosen to use the funding to help set up a leased laptop scheme to help students have improved access to ICT at home. Parents agree to make a small monthly contribution and children immediately benefit from using a current ‘state of the art’ laptop computer.
Schools involved in this scheme so far have used Toshiba laptops and arrangements to finance the scheme are made through ‘Syscap’.
We can also offer home support for families who want make better use of their computer by showing families the vast range of learning materials available on the Internet
