New skills learnt and developed at Cooke Training
Jude Buswell, aged 65, came to Cooke Training for I.T. sessions, hoping to improve her computer skills and learn how to use the internet so she could put her new skills to good use at home. Jude is currently doing the ‘Learn My Way’ course, created by the Tinder Foundation. She has learnt the basics of the computer and how to go online. Jude is still in the midst of completing the course and feels that she has still got quite a bit to learn. She wanted to do this course because she used to work as a secretary. She then had to leave her job as she had two young children to look after. When she came back to work after a few years, she found that things had changed. The work place was using computers rather than typewriters. This was quite frustrating and scary for her as she had never used computers before.
The former secretary is very enthusiastic about this course and is determined to learn new things. Jude finds it very interesting because, as she says: “There is always something new to learn everyday”.
Jude enjoys coming to Cooke Training because she believes her tutors Chris Frank and John Ellison are excellent teachers: "They go out their way for us to ensure that we learn the right things and if we are not sure of anything they will always help us”
She loves her time here as she feels that it is a pressure free environment and she is not rushed into learning anything. Jude explained: “I can work on my own pace and really get to understand new things“.
She would definitley recommend her friends to Cooke Training and wants to stay with us for another six months so she can further develop her computer skills.
